HYROX Finish Time Predictor

◷ 5 MIN READ·NO SIGN-UP·FREE

A HYROX result is the sum of eight runs, eight stations, and the walking in between. Most people only know their run pace, then guess the rest. This predictor turns your 5k time and experience level into a full finish estimate, broken down so you can see where the minutes go. Enter your 5k time above, pick your level and division, and it builds the race split by split.

How the prediction works

The eight runs come straight from your 5k. The calculator takes your per-km pace and slows it across the race, because run one feels nothing like run eight. Early runs sit close to your fresh 5k pace. By the back half your legs are loaded from sleds and lunges, so the model adds up to 18 percent to the final run. Add the eight together and you get your total run time.

The eight stations use median times for your level, pulled from public HYROX result data. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced each carry their own set of station times. Pick Pro and the calculator adds time to the sleds and wall balls, since Pro runs heavier sleds and a higher wall-ball target than Open.

The last piece is the roxzone, the walk from each run into the station and back out. It looks small. Across eight transitions it adds about four minutes, and it is the part most first-timers forget when they set a goal.

Reading your splits

The output lists every run and every station in race order, plus three totals: run time, station time, and the roxzone allowance. Look at the balance. A strong runner with slow stations and a strong station athlete with slow runs can post the same finish for different reasons. The split table tells you which one you are.

If you already know your erg numbers, type your SkiErg and RowErg 1km times into the optional fields. The calculator swaps your real times in for the medians on those two stations, which sharpens the estimate. The ergs are the two stations you can test in any gym, so they are the easiest to anchor.

Turning the estimate into a plan

Treat the prediction as a baseline, not a verdict. If the run total is the biggest block, your race is won by holding pace under fatigue, so practice running off the sled. If the stations dominate, your strength endurance is the limiter. The HYROX pacing benchmark shows where your predicted time sits against the field, and the HYROX training zones tool sets the run paces to train at. To dial in the SkiErg and RowErg pieces, the erg pace calculator converts splits to watts and back.
